When people think of Subotica, first association with it is that it is city in the north of Serbia, city of art-deco, Danilo Kis, village houses, wineries, Palic lake, impressive city hall, second largest synagogue in the Europe... However something that many people don't know is that lately Subotica has become a real IT city.
Advancement of information technology made it possible that location isn't deciding factor when it comes to business, and Subotica has used this new trend fully. In Subotica we have significant number of companies that do business on domestically and globally. IT Cluster Subotica garners somewhere around 20 companies from north Backa region that hire over 1200 people (from which over 500 are highly qualified). Many "traditional" companies have IT departments, so this number is only higher..
Many different fields are represented in IT Cluster Subotica, from programming (web development, IOS, IOT, Android, Cloud, AI, Database, Embedded, System solutions), digital marketing, telecommunications, machine engineering and programming, education, logistics, graphic design and branding, creation of smart solutions (smart buildings), systems for resources planning, video games, internet business etc.
What encourages us is that in Subotica we have significant rise of future IT experts and engineers that are doing their studies in our town. Faculty of economics (business IT and business IT systems), Subotica Tech - College of Applied Sciences are giving opportunity to students to get high education on IT fields.
IT Cluster Subotica has made a promotional video with founds European Union as part of CHECK-IT IPA project. We wanted to show our citizens IT face of our city.
Subotica IT Cluster gathers IT companies from Subotica and north Backa region, and our goal is to improve quality of living in our city and create better networking with companies from our region, local government and cluster members. We want to encourage and help young people to gain knowledge in IT fields and encourage staying in our city and enable career improvement.
